Bloated by 3pm, never feeling properly empty, or STILL constipated after the fibre, magnesium and probiotics? This 3-month gut program for women in perimenopause helps get things moving, ease the bloat and finally work out WHY it's happening, with a functional nutritionist who talks about poo more than is socially acceptable.
Join the Peri Poo Posse 💩I hear this every week in clinic, and honestly, it makes me cross. Midlife constipation and bloating are common. That doesn't mean you have to put up with them.
And here's what nobody tells you: perimenopause changes your gut too. When you're bloated and backed up, everything else about this stage of life feels harder, from your energy and mood to how you feel in your own body. Getting your gut working is one of the kindest things you can do for yourself right now.
It's a Tuesday in April. You get up, have your breakfast, and ten minutes later you have a proper, easy, done-and-dusted poo. No straining, no "was that it?", no going back three times.
Your jeans fit the same at 3pm as they did at 9am. You eat the fruit, the lentils and the salad without wondering which one is going to make you look five months pregnant. You know which fibre works for your gut and which supplements are actually worth buying, so you've stopped wasting money at the chemist.
And for the first time in years, you understand why your gut changed in your 40s, and what to do when it plays up. That's what I want for you.
Can we PLEASE stop telling every constipated woman to just eat more fibre?
| What you've been told | What we do in the Posse |
|---|---|
| "Eat more fibre." | The right fibre, built up gently, because psyllium, bran and inulin all behave differently |
| "Fruit is too much sugar." | Eat the bloody fruit, choosing the ones studied for constipation, in the amounts that work |
| "Take a probiotic." | Choose by strain, not by the 50 billion on the front of the bottle |
| "Drink more water." | Fluids matter, but they're one piece of a bigger puzzle |
| "It's just your age." | Your gut changes in midlife, and so does what it needs. Constipation is common, not something you have to put up with. |
When the basics are done properly, many women feel a real difference. And when they're done properly and you're still stuck, that tells me something too.
Seven days from Monday 18 January, designed to get your bowels moving in the very first week and clear the Christmas backlog. You'll have a poo breakfast every morning, the fruits studied for constipation in the amounts that work, fibre built up gently, proper fluids and a daily walk. No juice, no fasting, no detox teas. Your Prep Pack tells you exactly what to buy and stock up on beforehand.
Then we build on it for the rest of January with the January Gut Reset, one simple focus a week.
Your bowel loves routine. You'll learn to use the natural urge after breakfast, give yourself proper unhurried toilet time (with your feet up on a footstool), and slow your body down enough to actually go. Rushing out the door doesn't help anyone poo.
Why one fibre bloats you and another doesn't, how prebiotics work, how to choose a probiotic that's actually been studied for constipation, and how to eat more plants without living in stretchy pants.
What's going on when the basics have helped, and what's going on when they haven't: slow transit, methane, trouble emptying, and the medications and supplements that can slow things down. You'll leave with your own plan for keeping your bowels happy, and a clear idea of whether you need more help.
I used to be the constipated one. Years of chronic pain, anxiety and a whole list of symptoms that seemed to have nothing to do with each other, and my iron was always low. Nobody joined the dots. Working out what was really going on in my own gut is what turned things around for me, and it's why I've spent the last 17 years helping women do the same.
I'm Aline McCarthy, a functional nutritionist and FDN-P with over 17 years of clinical practice, co-director of The Better Health Clinic and the woman behind The Wellness Witches. I've done advanced gut microbiome training with Dr Jason Hawrelak, functional medicine training with Dr Datis Kharrazian, and specialist menopause education, and I'm completing a Master of Human Nutrition at Deakin.
From women I've worked with privately in clinic, shared with their permission. Everyone's results are different.
"I almost didn't join as I wasn't sure if another practitioner could help me and would be any different. From the very beginning, Aline took the time to look at the bigger picture and ran tests and explained my results in a way that finally made sense."
"I can now say my bloating is greatly reduced, my periods are lighter and less symptomatic, my skin is clearer and I'm feeling my energy return. We are still on the path of healing, and have a way to go, but it's so refreshing to finally see that there has been improvement and better yet it's given me hope."
"If you're a woman experiencing hormonal changes, perimenopause symptoms, unexplained fatigue, brain fog, mood changes, or you simply know something feels 'off' but don't know where to start, speak to Aline. You don't have to figure it all out on your own."
Three monthly payments of $97, starting today ($291 in total).
Your first three months are a commitment, not cancel-anytime.
Or pay $247 upfront and save $44.
For context, three months of private mentorship with me is around $3,000. The Posse gives you my framework and live teaching in a group. You'll need a few supplements for the program. The core gut supplements come to around $200 in total, but you don't have to buy them all at once. Your Prep Pack shows you which to start with, and I'll guide you through adding the rest one at a time so you can spread the cost.
Good, neither do I. You don't start anything until January, and this isn't a diet. Most women end up eating more foods, not fewer.
No. It's seven days of food, fruit, fibre, fluids and routine designed to get your bowels moving after Christmas. No juice, no fasting, no detox teas.
You've probably tried things one at a time, often the wrong fibre or a random probiotic. This is the foundations done properly and in order, with someone helping you read what changes. If they don't work for you, you'll know why, and that's useful too.
Every session is recorded, and you can send your question in beforehand so it gets answered even if you can't be there. Expect about 20–30 minutes a week, most of it while you're making breakfast.
One live session every fortnight, and one page a week. That's it, on purpose.
Instagram gives you tips. This gives you a plan in the right order, answers to your questions, and a tracker so you're not guessing.
Yes, a few. Food and habits come first, and the supplements support them. The core ones come to around $200 in total, and you can spread that out: start with one and add the others month by month as I guide you. You don't need to buy anything from me, and no tests are required.
Your gut is our focus for the first three months, and because you're in perimenopause, we talk about what's changing in your body as we go. After that, you can stay on at your founding price, and we'll move on to the other midlife questions you're dying to ask.
It may help, and it's a good place to start. But this is a group, so I don't assess anyone individually here. If your constipation is severe, long-standing or not budging, private one-on-one support is where I'd look at your case properly. Please read the note below first.
Yes, under the start-of-term promise, until 25 January. After that you've committed to the three months.
See your GP first if you have blood in or on your poo, unexplained weight loss, anaemia, severe or worsening pain, vomiting, or a new change in your bowel habits lasting more than a few weeks (especially if you're 45 or over). Get urgent care if you suddenly can't pass poo or wind and your belly is swollen. Check with your doctor before joining if you have IBD, kidney disease, recent bowel surgery, are pregnant, take regular medications, or have a history of disordered eating.
You can spend another summer bloated, googling fibre supplements and wondering if this is just your life now. Or you can enjoy Christmas, kick off 2027 with the New Year Gut Cleanse, and spend three months working out what your gut actually needs. I'd love you in the Posse. 💩
Peri Poo Posse is general education and group support, not individual diagnosis or treatment, and it doesn't replace your doctor. Questions in live sessions and the member group are answered as general education; individual test results and personal treatment plans are covered in private consultations. Results vary. The New Year Gut Cleanse is a food- and habit-based week; it isn't a detox and doesn't remove toxins. Founding-member enrolment and bonuses close 11:59pm AEDT 30 November 2026. Founding Five reviews go to the first 5 completed enrolments by time of payment, require a short intake form, are held between 11 and 22 January 2027, and use results you already have; no tests are ordered. Monthly plan: three monthly payments of $97 AUD ($291), the first at enrolment and then one month apart. The founding price applies to any future round of Peri Poo Posse you enrol in. If fewer than 5 women enrol, everyone receives a full refund. Start-of-term refunds must be requested by email by 25 January 2027. Recordings and resources are available until 30 April 2027. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
